About

Cultivated mainly for its bright winter stems, this deciduous flowering shrub also provides striking variegated foliage. Flowers and fruit attract butterflies and birds. Well-suited for hedges or screens. Prune out some of the oldest stems every spring or all stems near the ground every few years. Prefers evenly moist, well-drained soil.
